Most of you have this habit of checking e-mails and social media updates on your smart-phones as soon as you wake up in the morning , at coffee breaks, in the mid of having lunches and dinners , while waiting at the queue or might as well at the traffic signal and of course for that one last time before you crash onto your beds! It might annoy or irate the beloved ones or strangers, for that matter, who happen to be in your vicinity and proximity at those moments in time but it is nevertheless a boon to all those marketers awaiting a right opportunity to bombard you with their marketing tactics and gimmicks!
But let’s be honest and confess – have you ever even made a fading attempt or an unconscious effort to go through the mails lying and dying an unnoticed death in our SPAM folder! It could be a mail of a genuine marketer who has put in a hell lot of efforts-sweat-blood-and-tears to portray the right brand image , launch an innovative product or declare a discount on his services. But alas …he wasn’t probably cognizant of the fact that an appropriate shield of protection is needed to be able to not get trapped in the SPAM trap!
ISPs and ESPs have automated advanced filters in place which weed out these promotional content-bearing mails and throw them away in the Trash Bin to decompose. The intention is to not let fraudulent imposters and spammers from cheating on and molesting the unsuspecting prospects, it at times, leads to mass massacre of genuine marketers and their genuine intentions as well. Poor chaps…they have nothing more in store than to promote their harmless range of products and services but they do not sound as trustworthy and credible as they should be.
And on top of it , if you decide to drag the other marketing material which has managed to safely land in your Inbox by deporting them to the exit-way and report it as SPAM, it too raises an alarm and the service provider of these enterprises might penalize or block their domains halting the take-off of an-about-to-soar-in-sky relationship between you, the prospective buyer and them, the desperate sellers for once and all.
And we know what makes you so pissed off!
If the subject line is not catchy enough to arrest your attention you opt to hit the Shift+Delete and get rid of these useless creatures. The moment you see these pushy and desperate attempts to persuade and forcibly convince you to buy in the subject line itself it gets the heck out of you. And who reads those never-ending lengthy mails send at the wrong time when you ought to finish some serious and meaningful business to finish? It is utterly outrageous we know to not respect your space. We understand that these mails with uninspiring content, lack of spark of spontaneity and zero creativity are a strict no no for you. Plus who has this all the time on Earth to go through and download the fancy fonts, bulks of attachments and surveys and mails laced with info-graphics in abundance. Mobile data is available at throw-away price we know but we also accept that your time is precious too.
But the fault is not all theirs! Can you swear on your dear ones and confirm that you always key-in the correct details while revealing your e-mail addresses. I am not saying you do it always with malicious intentions of non co-operation . But at times you feel like avoiding the constant blabbering and blaring out of these sales-hungry organizations and going blah blah blah about “I, Me and Myself” as a brand without paying attention to your individual tastes, preferences and needs and so you tend to give incorrect or incomplete details. We are not denying the possibility of a typo error where you update the syntax or domain name incorrect by keeping extra space or an extra dot and that ruins their prospects of reaching out to you with some unbeatable offers and discounts. We understand and respect that it is completely a choice of yours to close an account or hop on to other service provider and nobody can snatch that away from you. It isn’t your fault either in case you updated your official e-mail ID and decided to move on to a new organization for a better opportunity. Debates about fundamental rights are as it is turning into heated arguments these days.
Somebody needs to tell these morons to come out of their shells of doing business the conventional way and switch on the GPS of available automation tools and solutions to reach out to you via the shortest possible route and that’s e-mail in this case we know because that’s where you feel like having a one-to-one conversation rather than getting lost in a group discussion where there’s no personal touch! We know you are a coveted prize because you are a consumer and consumer is a King , always and forever and any Tom, Dick or Harry cannot and dare not cross the private chambers of your palace without your due permission.
But we promise…we would confront these so-called experts in fields of marketing who are not ready to adapt to change with the changing times and force them adopt the emerging AI and ML solutions to ease their lives as well as that of yours. We need to get them on the right track and fast-track their own journey with endless possibilities ! Do wish us all the best in this endeavor.
